§ 01 — Overview

KOVE Core 0.5HP Ice Bath Chiller – Cooling System - Temperature Controlled - 695W

Consistent Cold Plunge Temperatures — Without Daily Ice Runs

The KOVE Core Ice Bath Chiller – 0.5HP (695W) is a compact, cooling-only unit built for repeatable cold exposure at home or in light commercial settings. It’s designed to keep cold plunging realistic long-term: stable temperatures, straightforward setup, and filtration that protects the system during regular use.

Available in Matt White and Deep Black, with a clean, minimal form factor that suits both indoor setups and smaller UK outdoor spaces.

Cooling Performance & Electrical Specs

  • Cooling power: 1200W
  • Cools to: 3°C
  • Input power: 695W
  • Compressor power: 410W
  • Current: 3.2A
  • Power supply: 220–240V, 50Hz
  • Usage environment: 2–45°C
  • Hose length: 1.7m
  • Power cable length: 2.3m

Filtration Built for Regular Use (Not Just a Basic Strainer)

Water quality matters — not only for cleanliness, but for protecting the pump and internal components. Many cheaper chillers rely on a basic mesh strainer only. KOVE takes a more practical approach for repeatable use.

  • Hair filter (coarse pre-filter)
  • External inline filter system with a 5-inch filter bottle housing and a 5-micron cartridge for finer debris capture

This two-stage approach helps keep water clearer and helps reduce pump strain over time — especially useful if you’re plunging several times per week.

Compatibility & Connections

The chiller uses standard 1/2-inch connections — the common connector size for quality ice bath systems. It pairs perfectly with all KOVE ice baths, and is also broadly compatible with other ice baths that use standard 1/2-inch fittings.

Real-World Water Volume (Why “400L Ice Bath” Doesn’t Mean 400L of Water)

Most ice bath capacity figures are based on the tub’s total volume. In practice, water volume is usually far lower, because bodies displace water and tubs aren’t filled to the brim. This is why a chiller rated for 200–300L often performs well with many “400L” tubs in real use.

In practical terms, the 0.5HP unit is best suited to typical water volumes of 200–300L, and is a strong match for most inflatable and compact cold plunge tubs — including many tubs marketed as “up to 400L”.

Size, Weight & Placement

  • Dimensions: 375 × 300 × 345 mm
  • Weight: 22.2 kg

For best performance, place the unit on a stable surface with sensible airflow and allow clearance around vents. Avoid positioning where water can pool underneath.

KOVE vs Cheaper Chillers (What Usually Changes at Lower Price Points)

Category KOVE 0.5HP Typical Cheaper Units
Filtration Hair filter + external 5" housing + 5-micron cartridge Often mesh-only or minimal filtering
Compatibility Standard 1/2" connections Sometimes non-standard fittings or unclear specs
Real-world sizing Specced for ice bath water volumes, not inflated marketing numbers Often optimistic capacity claims
Ownership Designed for repeatable use + easy integration More variables, more guesswork

Bundle Recommendation (Most Popular Setup)

The simplest long-term setup is a KOVE Ice Bath + KOVE Chiller. You get standardised connections, correct flow expectations, and a system designed to work together from day one.

If you already have an ice bath: as long as it uses standard 1/2-inch fittings, this chiller will integrate cleanly.

FAQs

Will this chiller work with a “400L” ice bath?
Often, yes. Most “400L” tubs do not contain 400L of water in real use. Typical water volume is commonly closer to 200–300L once filled to a sensible level and used by a person.

Is This Chiller Suitable for Commercial Use?

KOVE chillers can be suitable for shared use, including gyms, studios, wellness centres and other environments where multiple users are plunging throughout the day, provided the correct model is selected and appropriate maintenance is carried out.

Higher usage places significantly greater demands on the filtration system. As a minimum:

  • The secondary hair net filter should be inspected and cleaned daily, or more frequently where required.
  • The primary filter cartridge should be inspected regularly and replaced whenever water flow becomes restricted or in accordance with the maintenance schedule.
  • Water chemistry should be monitored and maintained to help protect the chiller and ensure water quality.
  • Adequate water flow and ventilation must be maintained at all times.

Failure to maintain the filtration system can restrict water flow, potentially leading to reduced performance or damage to internal components.

Not every KOVE chiller is designed for every commercial application. Factors such as plunge size, water volume, ambient temperature, user frequency and operating hours all influence the appropriate specification. Call us for more advice.

If you are purchasing a chiller for commercial or shared use, we strongly recommend contacting the KOVE team before ordering. We’ll be happy to discuss your setup and recommend the most suitable product.

Where a product is used in an environment or application for which it is not designed, or against KOVE’s recommendation, warranty coverage may be limited or declined where the misuse contributes to the fault.

What’s the difference between the hair filter and the 20-micron filter?
The hair filter catches larger debris first. The 20-micron cartridge then captures finer particulate before it reaches the system, improving water clarity and helping protect internal components. As with all ice bath chillers, in light commercial environments the hair net filter will need daily changing to avoid damage to the internals. The 5 inch filter will also need frequent changes.

Is this heating + cooling?
No — this model is cooling only.

Is it UK compatible?
Yes — 220–240V, 50Hz. Just plug it in.

Why Choose KOVE?

KOVE focuses on equipment that holds up to repeat use: sensible specs, straightforward compatibility, and practical ownership. The goal is a chiller you can rely on week after week — without complication.

§ 04 — Asked & answered

Questions about this cabin.

Does the cabin fit through a standard doorway?

Yes. Our cabins ship in flat panels, each under 142 × 110 cm, and assemble inside the room. Our installer Tom completes the build in three to four hours.

What electrical supply does it need?

A dedicated 16-amp spur on a 230V supply for two-person cabins. Single-person cabins run from a regular 13A socket. We arrange a free pre-install electrical survey for every order.

Is the wood treated? Will it off-gas?

No treatment, no glue, no off-gassing. Built from FSC-certified Western red cedar, mortise-and-tenon joined, and finished only with food-grade tung oil where the bench meets skin.

How long does it take to warm up?

Twelve minutes from cold to 60°C in hybrid mode. Eight minutes in pure infrared mode.

What's included in the price?

The cabin itself, full installation by a Telos maker, a starter care kit, and the lifetime warranty. Delivery, install, and the 60-night home trial are included for every UK and Ireland postcode.
