1 Person Infrared Saunas.
Single-person infrared cabins. The smallest viable cabin format — around 96 × 96 cm — sized for a spare room, a landing alcove, or the corner of a primary bedroom.
One-person infrared saunas for UK flats and small rooms.
A one-person infrared cabin is the most space-efficient permanent sauna you can install. The footprint is roughly 96 × 96 cm — about the size of a folding screen — and the cabin slots through a standard 76 cm internal door fully assembled at panel level. Ceiling clearance is 195 cm, which works in any standard UK room and most flats with original Victorian or Edwardian dimensions.
Inside, you sit upright on a single bench with carbon emitters at the back, sides and front-leg areas. Most one-person cabins draw 1.3–1.5 kW combined, run from a 13A socket, and warm to 60°C in under twenty-five minutes. The smaller air volume means warm-up is faster than a two-person cabin, which is part of why solo households tend to prefer this size even when they have the room for something larger.
Cedar is the default wood; hemlock is the slightly cheaper alternative. The cabin's lifespan is roughly twenty years for cedar, fifteen for hemlock, with normal indoor use. Daily users will notice the wood mellow in tone over the first six months as the natural oils polymerise on the surface — entirely cosmetic, entirely expected. The glass door is tempered safety glass, around 6 mm thick, and is the only component that ships separately.
Asked & answered.
The questions we get most about 1 person infrared saunas. Anything missing, the phone is the quickest way through.
What's the smallest room a one-person cabin will fit in?
Allow the cabin's footprint plus 30 cm clearance at the front for the swinging door, and around 10 cm at the rear for the heater wiring. A 1.3 × 1.3 m floor area is comfortable; smaller is possible with a sliding door modification on certain models.
Is one person big enough for couples?
Couples who alternate sessions are well served by a one-person cabin — the smaller volume means warm-up is faster between sittings. Couples who want to share a session should look at the two-person size; sharing a one-person cabin is technically possible but cramped.
Can I install it in a bedroom?
Yes. The cabin produces no smoke, very little ambient noise, and minimal moisture. The room will warm by 1–2°C during a session and cool back within an hour after the door is opened. A bedroom corner is a common installation point in UK flats.
How loud is it during a session?
Effectively silent. The carbon emitters do not have a fan, and the only sound is the thermostat clicking the heaters on and off — quieter than a fridge. Suitable for early-morning sessions in a flat with thin internal walls.
What does assembly involve?
Two people, around two hours, no specialist tools. The cabin arrives in five panels (four walls and a roof) which slot together via wooden tongue-and-groove and machine-cut clip joints. The glass door fits last and uses standard hinges. Most users report the build was easier than expected.
