Asked & answered

What's the recommended water temperature for daily use?
Most regular users sit between 4°C and 8°C for two to five minutes. Below 2°C offers no measurable additional benefit for non-elite users and increases after-drop risk; above 11°C the cold-shock response is partial.
How do you keep the wood from splitting in winter?
We recommend a quarterly oil treatment with food-safe linseed or hardwood preserver, plus an insulated cover for frost-prone weeks. The stainless or food-grade plastic liner inside takes the structural load — the wood is largely cosmetic.
How do I cool the water?
Without a paired chiller, you top up with bagged ice — typically 5–10 kg per session in summer, far less in winter when ambient air does the work. A standard freezer with three or four 2-litre bottles provides usable ice for two sessions.
How do I keep the water clean?
Three options: chlorine pucks at 1 ppm in a floating dispenser (cheapest); ozone via inline generator (no smell, very effective); or UV-C lamp on the circulation loop. Whichever you choose, skim weekly, drain and refill monthly.
Can I leave this outside year-round in the UK?
Yes — UK winters do most of the chilling for free. Cover the tub when not in use, keep the circulation pump running to prevent localised freezing in the pipework, and drain the tub if a hard sub-zero week is forecast.

§ 04 — Asked & answered

Questions about this cabin.

Does the cabin fit through a standard doorway?

Yes. Our cabins ship in flat panels, each under 142 × 110 cm, and assemble inside the room. Our installer Tom completes the build in three to four hours.

What electrical supply does it need?

A dedicated 16-amp spur on a 230V supply for two-person cabins. Single-person cabins run from a regular 13A socket. We arrange a free pre-install electrical survey for every order.

Is the wood treated? Will it off-gas?

No treatment, no glue, no off-gassing. Built from FSC-certified Western red cedar, mortise-and-tenon joined, and finished only with food-grade tung oil where the bench meets skin.

How long does it take to warm up?

Twelve minutes from cold to 60°C in hybrid mode. Eight minutes in pure infrared mode.

What's included in the price?

The cabin itself, full installation by a Telos maker, a starter care kit, and the lifetime warranty. Delivery, install, and the 60-night home trial are included for every UK and Ireland postcode.
